Poster Title: “Providing a Bully-Free Environment”
The intended message of my poster is two-fold; one is to provide Educators with a common agenda (Mission Statement: Educators’ Coalition for Providing a Proactive Approach to a Bully-Free Environment – on small chalkboard), and the second - continuous communications (the words on the hands). The second is the actual proactive approach, which is to provide children with the knowledge they need to become someone with character and not develop into a bully.
My poster may seem simple but the type took a very long time and I used multitude of the Photoshop options to alter the text components. While selecting the different typefaces and their type settings I was also thinking of the meaning of the word I was typing.
The image of the small chalkboard was from on Pam’s Clipart Website.
The Chalk Font was from the FontSpace Website.
I would like to thank my son and my husband for the picture of their hands.
The background image was a picture of an old chalkboard that I own.
I have actual plans to print and hang my poster at the school I work in.

Concept
Title: Evan B
This poster is a promotional photomontage for a performance by Evan B at a local club. It informs the public of; where, when, type of music the artist will be playing, and depicts the atmosphere of the club.
Design
11”w x 17” format
The seven images used were all taken by me. I used a digital camera to take 4 photos (artist, turntable, countertop and wood front), then used my cell phone to capture 3 photos (tower speakers, light speaker, and mixer and they were all taken at the local Best Buy, the mixer was the hardest to photograph, it was locked under glass).
Developed by using the techniques learned on lynda.com
Techniques Used
Marquee tools to crop images
Developed 13 layers
Altered layers using effects such as; shadows, glow, overlays, texture
Transform options to develop rays of light
Typography
Downloaded a retro style font from dafont.com
Altered type using effects such as; shadows, glow
Filters
Changed spacing in between characters
Rasterized layers in which to bend text and change perspective
Conclusion
Just like any software the more you use it the better you get at manipulating it to produce a final product. I would like to take more of Deke’s classes on lynda.com. One class in particular that I would like to take is “Using Clipping Mask for Nondestructive Cropping”. I was a bit apprehensive to use clipping mask in the making of my poster, and hope to learn more. To develop this photomontage it was suggested to use photos we had taken ourselves, just wish I had better images to use…
